\Polk County senior Alivia Livesay wrapped up a very successful senior tennis season by being named the Western Highlands Conference player of the year.
Livesay captured the WHC individual title in October with a dramatic win over Katie Craig of Owen, then placed third at the 2A Western Regional to qualify for the state 2A tournament. Livesay suffered a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 6-0 loss to West Davidson’s Olivia Varner in the opening round of the state tourney.
In her Polk County career, Livesay won three Western Highlands Conference doubles championships to go with the WHC singles title.
“I am so thankful to be able to play the sport that I love and make it all the way to state,” Livesay said. “And so honored to be chosen as the player of the year in our conference.
“I couldn’t have done this without the support of Coach (Richard) Davis and my family.”
