PCHS tennis program invites interested players to preseason tryouts

1 min read

Polk County High School girls tennis coach Tracy Becker is inviting all interested students to try out for the program, regardless of experience level, as the Wolverines prepare for the 2026 season.

Tryouts will be held July 29-31 from 9-11 a.m. at the PCHS tennis courts.

“Our goal this season is to continue growing the program and create opportunities for every student who wants to be part of a team,” Becker said. “Tennis is a sport you can enjoy for a lifetime, and we’re excited to welcome players of all experience levels.”

Becker is encouraging students of all backgrounds to attend.

“Never played? Perfect. Played for years? Even better. We simply want students who are willing to learn, work hard, and be great teammates,” Becker said.

Students planning to try out are encouraged to contact Becker before the first day of tryouts to ensure all required athletic paperwork has been completed. Players should bring tennis shoes, a racket, a towel and a water bottle.

Polk County opens the season with a preseason scrimmage August 6 before beginning regular-season play later in the month.
