
R-S Central spoiled Polk County’s final road match of the season, handing the Wolverines a 7-2 setback Wednesday in Rutherfordton.
The Hilltoppers (7-4, 6-4) won five of the day’s six singles matches to secure the win and move into second place in the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference.
Polk County (5-7, 5-4) concludes its regular season on Thursday, hosting conference leader Hendersonville for a 4 p.m. match.
Bella Sheffron scored the lone singles win for the Wolverines while Allie Quoyle and Tali Thompson teamed for a doubles victory.
