Polk County's Elizabeth Vitale

Defending state champion Hendersonville showed Tuesday why they could be a threat for a repeat title run, handing Polk County a 9-0 defeat in girls tennis play in Hendersonville.

The Bearcats improved to 8-1 overall, 6-0 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matches. Polk County dropped to 4-4, 4-1.

The Wolverines are scheduled to return to the courts on Tuesday, traveling to Patton for another league match.
