Polk County's Rosie LaFauci delivers a serve during douvbles play on Tuesday

Tracy Becker’s post-match smile grew just a little wider Tuesday evening.

“Everyone on the team got to play in a match today,” Becker said.

Not only that, but all 10 team members present at Polk County’s courts took part in at least one win as the Wolverines defeated R-S Central 8-1 in their Mountain Foothills 7 Conference opener.

Polk County is now 2-0 overall, 1-0 in league play.

The Wolverines won five of the day’s six singles matches to secure the team win. That allowed Becker to substitute freely for doubles play, as did the Hilltoppers. Polk wound up sweeping the three doubles matches.

Mia Wolfe had the lone double-victory day for Polk, outlasting Madelyn Hasty 7-5, 6-1 in singles play and then teaming with Anna Jackson for an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

The Wolverines will be back in action on Thursday, traveling to Patton for another MF7 match.
