Polk County's Virginia Rostick.

Polk County earned a hard-fought 6-3 win Tuesday over Crest in a non-conference girls tennis match in Boiling Springs.

The Wolverines (2-2) swept doubles play to secure the win against the Chargers (0-2). Included in that sweep was the first win of the season for Polk County’s defending state 1A doubles champions, Hannah Jenne and Tana Harris, who earned an 8-6 triumph.

“Good win against a good 4A team,” said Polk County head coach Richard Davis. “We are continuing to get better as we play a very difficult but beneficial schedule.”

Harris also earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, joining Virginia Rostick and Sara Muse with singles wins for the Wolverines.

Polk County returns to action on Wednesday, hosting East Rutherford at 4 p.m.
