
Owen eked out a sweep of doubles play Tuesday to hand Polk County a 6-3 loss in girls tennis action in Swannanoa.
The Warhorses captured the non-conference match, the season opener for both teams, with their three doubles wins. Each was close, with an 8-5 decision at No. 2 doubles the largest margin of victory.
Polk County earned a split of singles matches as Elizabeth Vitale, Sarah Vitale and Bella Sheffron earned wins at the first three singles spots.
The Wolverines return to action Monday in their home opener, facing Landrum at 4 p.m. on the PCHS courts.
