Brown named WHC Player of the Year, two others earn All-WHC selection

Polk County’s Cate Brown has been named the Western Highlands Conference Player of the Year for girls tennis.

Brown posted a 10-2 record in singles play and 7-2 in doubles matches for Polk County. She finished her Wolverine career with a combined singles and doubles record of 56-4 in three seasons.

Teammates Virginia Then and Paige White also earned All-WHC honors.

Polk County finished with a 5-7 record this season, falling to Hendersonville in the second round of the state 3A playoffs after topping North Wilkes in its postseason opener.
