Gabby Savaia scored three goals and Reeve Carroll added two as Polk County defeated Mountain Heritage 6-1 in Wednesday’s Western Highlands Conference girls soccer match in Burnsville.
The Wolverines (2-1-2, 1-0-1) dominated from the opening whistle, building a 4-0 halftime lead before adding two more goals in the second half.
Savaia opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing a through ball from Carroll. Five minutes later, Carroll made it 2-0 with a goal from inside the six-yard box off a pass from Savaia.

Savaia added her second goal in the 14th minute, putting in a corner kick from Hurley Bell at the near post. Charley Dusenbury extended the lead to 4-0 in the 26th minute with a high cross/shot from the left sideline.
Mountain Heritage (0-4, 0-1) pulled within 4-1 with a goal in the 48th minute, but Polk County answered quickly. Carroll completed her brace in the 55th minute off another Gabby Savaia assist.
Savaia completed her hat trick with a tap-in from two yards out after Kenley Savaia beat her defender on the right side and played a cross into the goal area.
Goalkeeper Cate Brown made two saves for Polk County. The Wolverines held a 17-5 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge in shots on goal.
Polk County travels to Franklin on Friday for a non-conference match.
