Wolverines cruise to conference win over Mitchell

Polk County’s girls soccer team toyed with Mitchell for much of Thursday’s match, finally taking an 8-0 win over the Mountaineers in a Western Highlands Conference match in Wolverine Stadium.

Polk County (9-3, 6-1) scored three goals in the first 15 minutes, then spent much of the rest of the game passing the ball, occasionally pushing in for a goal.

Eight different players scored for Polk County, those being Reese Alley, Ashton Capozzi, Caroline Lee, Addie Lynch, Ashley Love, Bella Marino, Leah Stockdale and Baylee Love.

Mitchell dropped to 1-11, 0-8 with the loss.

The Wolverines have now win six straight matches heading into spring break. Polk County’s next game is April 20 at home against Owen.
