Polk County’s Jamilett Ramirez

West Henderson JVs down Polk County, 3-1

West Henderson scored a pair of goals early in the second half Thursday en route to a 3-1 win over Polk County in junior varsity girls soccer action in Mills River.

The Falcons held a 1-0 lead at intermission, but scored twice in four-minute span early in the second half to take command of the match.

Polk County (2-1) got a late goal from Jamilett Ramirez, the score coming on a free kick from some 25 yards out that Ramirez drilled over the goalkeeper’s head. But that would be all the scoring for the Wolverines.

Polk County is slated to be back in action on April 12, traveling to Asheville High for a 5 p.m. match.
