Marianne Maxon scored four goals and West Henderson showed Monday why the Falcons are one of the top teams in the area, handing Polk County a 7-0 defeat in Mills River.
Mixon, a sophomore, has scored 27 goals in 11 games this season, leading West Henderson to a 10-1 record. Polk County dropped to 2-7-2 with the loss.
The Falcons built a 5-0 lead at the half.
West Henderson also scored a 7-0 win in the junior varsity game, with Ariel Nolan scoring four goals for the Falcons (6-0) in that win.
Polk County dropped to 2-4 with the loss.
Both Wolverine teams will return to action on Wednesday, facing Hendersonville in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play. Those games will be played at West Henderson as Hendersonville’s stadium is currently undergoing renovations.
