
Reeve Carroll scored her first hat trick for Polk County Middle, the three goals leading the Wolverines to a 3-1 victory over Macon Middle on Wednesday at Utz Field.
Carroll, a sixth grader, scored on assists from Grace Settles, Charley Dusenbury and Leah Dotson as the Wolverines improved to 2-1.
Polk Middle is slated to host Hendersonville Middle on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
POLK JVS TOP CREST: Allison Kennedy and Cassidy Ash each scored two goals as Polk County’s junior varsity notched a 4-0 win over Crest in a recent non-conference battle at Crest.
Kennedy and Ash each scored once in the first half and then repeated that in the second half to lead the Wolverines to their first win of the season.
Polk County (1-2) is slated to host Tuscola on Monday at 5 p.m. for a non-conference match.
CHARLES PART OF STATE RUNNER-UPS: Polk County soccer coach Lennox Charles and his South State Bank team placed second in the Over 50 division of the Carolinas Cup 2021, held in December at Truist Sports Park in Bermuda Run.
South State reached the final with a 2-0 win over NCFC Fitty, a 5-2 victory over Charlotte Elite and a 3-1 win over Greensboro PT.
South State lost 2-0 to Kentucky Waterfall in the Over 50 final.
