Polk Middle defender Jill Brown clears a loose ball during a recent match

Polk County Midde gave up an early goal, but rallied to hand Hendersonville Middle a 3-2 setback Monday in a Blue Ridge Conference match in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines (7-1) trailed 1-0 before Kenley Savaia evened the match, her tally leading to a 1-1 stalemate at the half.

Polk then struck twice in the second half, once on a Reeve Carroll penalty kick, the other as Molly Justice drove past a defender and sent a strike into the back of the net.

“Amberina Jenne was so close to getting a goal,” said Polk Middle head coach Jessica Marrow. “She played really well and aggressively. Hendersonville struggled to keep up with her

“Sofie Abrahamsen had four aggressive saves, not allowing Hendersonville to score on her. She also always does a great job being communicative on the field.”
