Polk County’s girls soccer program celebrated a successful 2023 season with its annual end-of-year awards banquet, held at Southern Manners in Columbus.

Head coach Lennox Charles handed out a number of awards as the varsity team celebrated a 17-4-1 record and reaching the second round of the state 2A playoffs.

Players honored during the ceremony included:

Junior varsity players who each received a Coach’s Award. “These are the JV players who, for the most part, were always at practice, even when hurt, had a good attitude, worked hard and improved, even though they were never guaranteed, even on the day of the match, because of the numbers,” Charles said.
