Polk Middle gets late goal to top Apple Valley, 3-2

Polk County Middle School evened its record at 2-2 on Monday, pushing past Apple Valley Middle School 3-2 in a Blue Ridge Middle School Conference girls soccer match in Hendersonville.

Ava Marino scored two goals and Reese Alley added the game-winning in the second half to lead the Wolverines to the win.

Head coach George Alley also praised the defensive play of  Patricia Santibanez, Aria Shields and Galen Sachse, as well as goalkeeper Rachel Raposa, who stopped three first-half breakaways to keep the Knights at bay.

Polk County returns home on Thursday to host Hendersonville for a 4:30 p.m. match.
