Polk County’s junior varsity girls soccer team earned its second straight win on Thursday, defeating Mitchell 2-1 in a Western Highlands Conference game in Wolverine Stadium.

The Wolverines (2-5) got the game-winning goal in the second half from Jen Guerrero.

Logan Morlino scored in the first half on an assist from Jennifer Gonzalez as the teams battled to a 1-1 tie at the half.

Polk County JV coach Will Pack praised his defense for stopping Mitchell’s attempts late in the game to get the equalizing goal.

 

Polk County is back in action on April 18, hosting Landrum at 5:30 p.m.
