Polk County’s girls soccer program recently celebrated another successful season with the team’s annual postseason awards banquet.

Head coach Lennox Charles and assistant coach Will Pack handed out awards for the varsity, which finished second in the Western Highlands Conference and advanced to the second round of the state 2A playoffs.

Varsity players recognized were:

Most Valuable Offensive Players: Caroline Lee, Ashley Love
Most Valuable Defensive Player: Malena Roman
Player of the Year: Rhian Alley
Wolverine Award: Baylee Love
All-Conference: Reese Alley, Rhian Alley, Jessica Bentley, Caroline Lee, Ashley Love
All-Region: Reese Alley, Rhian Alley, Caroline Lee, Ashley Love, Malena Roman

Pack, who served as the head junior varsity coach, also handed out awards:

Most Valuable Offensive Player: Jen Guerrero
Most Valuable Defensive Players: Patricia Santibanez, Aria Shields
Team Award: Willow Arkell

The program’s four seniors – Bentley, Lee, Love and Leah Stockdale – each received custom quilts designed and produced by Caryn Conaway at Woven Art in Tryon. Conaway donated the quilts to the program.
