Polk girls soccer squad climbs to fourth in latest state poll

Polk County moved up two spots to No. 4 in the latest North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association 2A state poll.

The Wolverines. 9-2, trail Carrboro, Lake Norman Charter and West Stokes in this week’s rankings.

Western Highlands Conference rival Owen is ranked seventh this week. The two teams don’t meet until April 23.

Riding an eight-game winning streak following Monday’s 3-1 win over Landrum, Polk County is back in action Wednesday night at Hendersonville.
