Kenley Savaia scored three goals and Polk County rolled to a 7-2 victory over Mountain Heritage in Monday’s Western Highlands Conference girls soccer game at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverines scored four goals in the first half to take control, then added three more in the second half to secure the win and remain in first place in the WHC standings.
Kenley Savaia opened the scoring in the third minute, taking a pass from Gabby Savaia and finishing from the 6-yard line. Charley Dusenbury made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute, intercepting a Heritage pass and hitting a long arching shot from outside the penalty area that cleared the goalkeeper.

Gabby Savaia extended the lead to 3-0 in the 27th minute when she received a header from Hurley Bell at the top of the penalty area, drove to the right side of the box and hit a low shot inside the near post.
Kenley Savaia scored her second goal in the 34th minute, taking a through ball from Gabby Savaia and racing down the right flank past the defense before going deep into the box and driving a shot inside the near post.
Mountain Heritage (4-7, 4-4) pulled within 4-1 in the 48th minute, but Polk County answered with goals from Reeve Carroll in the 69th minute and Kenley Savaia in the 74th minute. The Cougars scored again in the 75th minute before defender Jill Brown connected on a long free kick from well outside the penalty area in the 79th minute to complete the scoring.
Polk County (9-2-4, 8-0-1 WHC) hosts Madison on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
