Polk County unleashed a Senior Night offensive onslaught Tuesday evening, scoring early and often en route to an 8-1 Mountain Foothills 7 Conference victory over Chase at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
Hayden Blackwell opened the scoring just 69 seconds into the match, converting a cross from Kylie Lewis from close range to give the Wolverines a quick 1-0 advantage.
Lewis turned from provider to scorer at the 12:55 mark, finding the net from inside the penalty area to double Polk’s lead.

After Chase cut the deficit to 2-1, Gabby Savaia restored the Wolverines’ two-goal cushion at 19:58. Savaia collected a pass with the Chase defense positioned near midfield, took a couple of dribbles and drove into the right side of the penalty box before delivering a low shot to the far corner.
The Wolverines continued to press forward, with Jessica Baird making it 4-1 at 23:30. Lewis provided the assist, finding Baird, who fired a shot between two defenders from eight yards out.
Lewis added her second goal at 32:10, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the penalty area and slotting home to give Polk a 5-1 advantage.
Reeve Carroll joined the scoring parade just before halftime, striking from 14 yards out inside the right edge of the penalty area at 36:58 to send the Wolverines into the break with a commanding 6-1 lead.
The second half brought more of the same as Lewis completed her hat trick at 68:26, finishing from 12 yards out on the right side of the box.
Mia Wolfe capped the scoring at 72:10, taking a well-placed pass from Lewis down the middle, controlling with her first touch before driving a low shot past the goalkeeper’s right side into the left corner of the net.
