Allison Kennedy

North Henderson rallied from a halftime deficit to top Polk County’s junior varsity 2-1 in a girls soccer match Thursday in G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Wolverines (0-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead early in the first half as Allison Kennedy broke free from the North defense and scored from close range in the 13th minute.

But the Knights evened the score in the second half on a Polk County own goal, then survived a Polk threat as Kennedy struck the right post from another shot deep in the penalty area.

North Henderson then scored the winning goal moments later.

Polk County’s JVs are scheduled to be back in action on Friday, traveling to Crest for a 4:30 p.m. match.
