Polk County Middle School hosted a number of Blue Ridge Middle School Conference boys and girls track teams in a meet Tuesday at Polk County High School.

Polk County Middle earned Tuesday its second straight win, downing Brevard Middle 6-2 in action at Polk County Middle.

Abby Amato scored three goals for the Wolverines, who improved to 3-4 with the win.

Polk Middle begins a three-game road trip on Thursday, traveling to Waynesville for a 4:30 p.m. game.

Polk Middle and Brevard Middle played Tuesday to a 7-7 tie, the game halted after five innings due to reaching the mandated two-hour time limit.

The tie leaves Polk Middle with a 4-2-1 record heading into Thursday’s trip to Waynesville.

Polk entered the game coming off a 20-0 rout of Flat Rock and a 14-10 win over Rugby last week. In that win, Autumn Owen was 4-for-4, including an inside-the-park home run, and Haley Fowler was 3-for-4 with a walk to lead the Wolverines. Fowler also struck out seven in earning the win.
