Polk County Middle closed its girls soccer season on Monday with a 5-3 win over Apple Valley in Hendersonville.

Ava Marino scored three goals to lead the Wolverines, who finished with a 7-5 record. Polk County earned the fourth overall seed in the Blue Ridge Middle School Conference tournament and will host Macon Middle on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Mireya Roman and Taytem Johnson each added goals for Polk Middle.

Head coach Stephanie Luedi cited the midfield play of Belen Akers and the play up front of Johnson as playing key roles in the win.
