Love, Cash honored as players of the week

They teamed on perhaps the biggest goal of Polk County’s season, and for their efforts in that match Ashley Love and Ellese Cash have been named the PolkSports.com/Bradley Screen Printing players of the week.

Cash, a senior, and Love, a sophomore, combined to produce the only goal in Polk County’s 1-0 win over Hendersonville, a victory that gave the Wolverines a share of the Western Highlands Conference regular season championship. Cash crossed a perfect pass to Love, who scored the winning goal. Love also had a goal and two assists in Polk County’s 4-1 win at Chapman.

The Wolverines travel to Shelby on Saturday for a second-round 2A state playoff game.
