Kylie Lewis scored three goals Tuesday to lead Polk County to a 3-2 victory over Crest in junior varsity girls soccer action in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverines are now 2-2 for the season.
How it happened: Lewis scored twice in the first 20 minutes as Polk County took a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Chargers found the net early in the second half to even the score. But Lewis completed her hat trick with a goal in the 54th minute, getting control of a loose ball in the Crest end following a goal kick, dribbling past a defender in the right side of the penalty area and hitting a hard drive into the left corner of the net.
Polk’s defense, led by goalkeeper Maggie Johnson, made the lead stand over the final minutes.
Next up: The Wolverines will next see the pitch on April 18, hosting Hendersonville for a 5 p.m. match.
