Apple Valley scored three second-half goals Tuesday to defeat Polk County Middle 4-1 in a Blue Ridge Conference game at Utz Field.

Polk Middle dropped to 5-4-1 with the loss.

Reeve Carroll scored in the first half for Polk before Apple Valley (5-3) surged in the second half, breaking the 1-1 tie on a long drive from well outside the penalty area and then adding two goals in the final 15 minutes.

The Wolverines are scheduled to host Flat Rock Middle on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in their final game before spring break.
