Hendersonville Middle scored twice in the first five minutes Monday and went on to top Polk County Middle 5-0 in Blue Ridge Conference girls soccer action at Utz Field.

The Wolverines (0-2) rebounded from the early flurry and held the Bearcats scoreless for the rest of the first half, with goalkeeper Maggie McCammon making a handful of saves.

Hendersonville Middle (2-0) tallied three times in the second half to account for the final margin.

Polk Middle returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Canton Middle for a 4:30 p.m. match.
