Hendersonville’s junior varsity erupted for three goals late in the first half Monday to spark a 4-0 win over Polk County in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference action at East Henderson.

Polk County dropped to 2-3 with the loss.

The Bearcats scored an early goal and kept that 1-0 lead until midway through the first half. Hendersonville then tallied twice in a span of a few minutes and added a goal just before intermission to take a 4-0 lead.

Polk County responded with an improved effort in the second half, creating more scoring chances and keeping the Bearcats in check.

Grace Settles had eight saves for Polk County, which is slated to be back in action on Thursday, hosting Tuscola at 5 p.m.
