Emma Stevenson scored twice in the first half and East Henderson snapped an eight-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Polk County in Friday’s non-conference girls soccer game in Flat Rock.
Stevenson opened the scoring in the 11th minute, intercepting a Polk County pass and dribbling to the right side of the box for a 1-on-1 opportunity before finishing into the left side of the net.
She struck again in the 27th minute, finding free space in the box and redirecting a long pass from the right wing with a header from 10 yards out that sailed into the top of the net just over Polk County goalkeeper Cate Brown.
