Dusenbury header helps Polk score draw with Franklin

1 min read

Charley Dusenbury headed in a goal in the 52nd minute to lift Polk County to a 1-1 draw with Franklin in Friday’s non-conference girls soccer match at Macon Middle School.

Franklin (3-0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute on an own goal. The home team had a long throw-in that Polk County let drop in the box, and a header attempt by a Wolverine player after the bounce looped into the far corner of the net.

Polk County came out with better intensity and communication in the second half, matching Franklin’s aggressive style and attacking the ball more effectively. The Wolverines equalized when Reeve Carroll took a flip throw-in and Dusenbury headed it home from two yards out.
