Any hopes of a Wolverine comeback were effectively ended in the 66th minute when a Brevard corner kick deflected off a Polk County defender, struck the post and dropped into the net for the final 3-0 margin.
Polk County will learn its first-round playoff opponent on Friday as pairings are announced for the 1A postseason, which begins Monday. The Wolverines currently project as the fifth seed in the 1A West bracket.
