Blue Devils slip past Wolverines

Brevard Middle overcame a solid defensive effort by Polk County Middle and earned a 1-0 victory Monday at Polk County Recreation Complex.

The Wolverines, who opened their season last week with a 2-1 win at Apple Valley, dropped to 1-1.

Polk coaches cited the play of defenders Gabby Savaia, Jillian Brown, Heaven Villarreal, Adelyn Pena and Haven Wilkins as well as goalkeeper Cate Brown.

Polk Middle is set to return to action Tuesday, hosting Macon Middle at 4:30 p.m.
