Brevard raced to an early three-goal lead lead Friday en route to a 6-1 victory over Polk County in a Mountain Foothills 7 girls soccer match in Brevard.
The Blue Devils (10-3-4, 8-1) tallied three times in the first 10 minutes of the match. Polk County (3-11-2, 3-5-2) answered as Susanna Ashworth scored on a free kick from some 20-plus yards out, cutting the Brevard lead to 3-1.
But Polk missed a couple of scoring chances early in the second half, and the Blue Devils pulled away to the final margin.
Junior Rylee Murray scored three goals for Brevard.
Polk County is set to travel Monday to Smoky Mountain for a non-conference match before returning home Tuesday to host East Rutherford.
