Polk County senior Reese Alley has been named to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association all-state team, with four other Wolverines earning all-region honors.

Alley, a senior who plans to play soccer at MIT, helped lead Polk County to the state 1A quarterfinals for the first time since 2008. She scored 20 goals and handed out 19 assists in a season that also earned her selection for the East-West All-Star Game in July.

She finished her career with 68 assists, breaking the school record of 57 set by Erin Cunningham in 1996-1999.

Polk County sophomore goalkeeper Sara Muse, junior forward Ava Marino, senior defender Aria Shields and junior defender Sydney Waldman were named to the All-Region 10 team by the NCSCA.

Polk County head coach Lennox Charles shared Region 10 coach of the year honors with Swain’s Scott Cline.
