Polk County’s Emmie McDowell poured in 14 points in Wednesday’s win.

Polk County raced Wednesday to an easy 66-11 victory over Pinnacle Classical Academy in a non-conference girls basketball matchup at Polk.

The Wolverines (11-1) built a 39-9 halftime lead, then held the Eagles (5-7) to just two points in the second half to extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Emmie McDowell and Olivia Overholt each had 14 points to lead Polk County, with Overholt adding five rebounds, five assists and six steals. Sara Muse added 10 points and six rebounds.

Tori Thompson had nine points and seven steals, with Marissa Twitty scoring eight points, Kristen Hall adding five points and Rachael Davis, Kaylin Jenkins and Alana Jergenson each adding two.

Polk County is back in action on Friday, hosting Owen in a Western Highlands Conference matchup. The evening will also feature the recognition of Polk Central’s 1977 boys and girls basketball teams, which each finished undefeated in the regular season.
