Mountain Heritage polished off an undefeated season Tuesday with a 77-36 win over Polk County in girls basketball play in Bakersville.

The Cougars ended the regular season with a 21-0 record, includng a 10-0 mark in Western Highlands Conference games.

Polk County ended its season at 6-16, 0-10. The Wolverines open play in the WHC postseason tournament on Friday at Mitchell.

Mariah Overholt had 13 points for Polk County, with Olivia Overholt scoring nine. Tori Thompson had five points, with Ansley Lynch scoring four. Emmie McDowell had three points and Kristen Hall added two.
