Third-quarter run helps push Polk JV girls to second straight win

Emily Prince and Kaylin Jenkins each scored 11 points Wednesday to lead Polk County to a 35-16 win over East Henderson in girls junior varsity basketball action in Flat Rock.

The Wolverines improved to 2-0 with the victory. Polk County hosts Cherryville on Tuesday.

Polk County held a 13-8 lead at halftime, then broke the game open in the third period with a 16-5 run, taking a 29-13 edge into the final quarter. Prince and Jenkins each scored five points in the period to help spark the rally.

Amy Chupp and Savannah Parris each scored six points for Polk, with Alana Jergenson adding two points and Lauren Dotson scoring one.
