T.C. Roberson girls edge Polk County in thriller

T.C. Roberson held off Polk County to claim a 39-38 victory Wednesday in a non-conference girls basketball matchup in Skyland.

The Wolverines (13-5) fell in a nip-and-tuck defensive battle as t.C. Roberson (5-14) held Polk below 40 points for just the second time this season.

Marissa Twitty had 12 points to lead the Wolverines, with Olivia Overholt scoring 10. Tori Thompson had nine points, with Kristen Hall adding four points and six rebounds.

Kaylin Jenkins had two points and Sara Muse added one for Polk County, which travels to Avery on Friday for a Western Highlands Conference battle.
