
Patton pulled away in the second half Saturday to hand Polk County a 46-23 setback in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference junior varsity girls basketball action at Polk.
The Wolverines (0-3) trailed just 19-13 at the half. But Patton held Polk County to just four points in the third period, building a 32-17 margin by quarter’s end and keeping the Wolverines in check in the final quarter.
Sarah Gray had nine points to lead Polk County, with Brianna Gray and Vanessa Raposa each scoring five.
Tali Thompson added four points for the Wolverines, who are next in action on Wednesday at Hendersonville.
