Second-half surge carries Hendersonville JVs past Polk

A third-quarter surge helped push Hendersonville to a 45-18 victory Tuesday over Polk County in junior varsity girls basketball action at Polk.

The Bearcats held a 16-12 lead at halftime, but hit three 3-pointers during a 20-2 run in the third quarter that gave them command of the game.

Brianna Gray and Saarh Gray each scored four points to lead Polk Couny, with Kayleigh Wilson adding three. The Wolverines also got two points each from Tali Thompson, Citlhaly Guerrero and Alex Wiseman.

Vanessa Raposa added one point for Polk.

Hendersonville and Polk are two of three Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schools with JV girls teams, Patton being the other.
