
Hendersonville Middle shut down Polk County Middle’s offense in the second half Wednesday, rallying to hand the Wolverines a 37-22 setback in Blue Ridge Conference girls basketball action in Hendersonville.
The Bearcats improved to 4-0 with the win while Polk Middle fell to 3-1 with its first loss of the season.
How it happened: Polk Middle took an 18-12 lead at halftime. But Hendersonville Middle held the Wolverines to just two second-half baskets, enabling the comeback that secured the win.
The Bearcats outscored Polk 13-2 in the fourth quarter.
Scoring: Beija Olivari led Polk Middle with eight points, with Sofie Abrahamsen and Cate Brown each scoring four. Amiyah Waters, Reeve Carroll and Raney Tallon each scored two points.
