Polk County’s junior varsity girls basketball team concluded its regular season Friday with a commanding 32-14 victory at Brevard on Friday night.
The Wolverines (8-4) controlled the game from the opening quarter, building a 14-5 lead before extending their advantage in the second half. Polk County’s defense proved particularly stifling after halftime, holding Brevard scoreless in both the third and fourth quarters.
Sofie Abrahamsen led a balanced Polk County offense with eight points, while Beija Olivari added seven. Exziah Staley contributed five points, with Honesty Jackson and Jill Brown each scoring four. Amber Chupp added three points and Virginia Then rounded out the scoring with one.

After taking an 18-13 lead into halftime, Polk County outscored Brevard 14-0 in the final two periods to secure the win in both teams’ regular-season finale.
