Rugby Middle slips away in second half to down Polk Middle

Rugby Middle outscored Polk County Middle 15-7 in the second half Thursday to pull away for a 27-18 victory in Blue Ridge Conference girls basketball action in Mills River.

The game was tied 12-12 at halftime before Rugby (7-4) took control with a 9-0 third quarter.

Kenzie Alm led Polk County Middle (4-9) with eight points. Ryleigh Dill added four, and Emily Dotson, Preslie Bradley and Ava Caristo each scored two.

Polk County Middle closes its regular season Tuesday at home against Brevard Middle.
