Rugby held off a determined Polk County Middle squad to record a 36-32 win over the Wolverines on Thursday in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference girls basketball action at Polk.
The loss dropped Polk County’s record to 4-5. Rugby improved to 8-1 on the season.
Bre Kenan led Polk Middle with 13 points, with Sara Muse adding 11, Kristen Hall scoring four and Rachael Davis and Belen Akers each scoring two.

Polk Middle travels Wednesday to Apple Valley before hosting Hendersonville Middle on Thursday in the final regular-season home game.
