Polk County dominated the post area Wednesday, paving the path for a 59-27 victory over North Henderson in the opening round of the Knights 11th Annual Christmas Tournament in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines improved to 5-4 and advanced to Thursday’s semifinal, where they will face High Point Academy of Spartanburg. High Point (9-2) defeated R-S Central 50-40 in its tourney opener.

Polk’s post players proved too much for North Henderson (0-10) to stop. Kylie Lewis scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds while Kiera Littlejohn had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Bailey Staton had 21 points to lead Polk, which built a 27-13 halftime lead. Mia Bradley added seven points, with Cate Brown and Jayden Duncan each scoring two.
