Polk Middle girls subdue Apple Valley for first win

Bailey Staton poured in 18 points Tuesday to lead Polk County Middle to a 41-28 victory over Apple Valley Middle in a Blue Ridge Conference girls basketball battle in Hendersonville.

Staton’s effort helped the Wolverines (1-1) earn their first win of the season.

Leah Dotson finished with eight points for Polk Middle, with Jayden Duncan and Charley Dusenbury each scoring six and Kaylynne Holbert finishing with three.

Polk Middle is back in action on Wednesday, hosting Hendersonville Middle for a 4:30 p.m. matchup.
