Polk Middle girls roll past Rugby Middle

Polk County Middle rolled to a 32-11 victory Monday over Rugby Middle in a Blue Ridge Conference girls basketball battle in Mills River.

The Wolverines (5-1) picked up their fifth straight victory and completed a perfect run through the first half of their East Division schedule.

Bailey Staton had 10 points to lead Polk Middle, with Jayden Duncan and Cate Brown each adding six points and Reeve Carroll contributing four points.

Charley Dusenbury, Kaylynne Holbert and Beiji Olivara each added two points for Polk Middle, which completes its pre-holiday schedule on Thursday, traveling to Waynesville Middle.
