Polk County Middle opened its 2016-17 campaign on a winning note Tuesday, rolling past Canton Middle 49-25 in Canton.
Sara Muse scored 13 points and Olivia Overholt added 11 for the Wolverines (1-0).
Also scoring were Julia Griffin with eight points, Rachael Davis with six, Kaylin Jenkins with four, Kylee Mullis, Emmie McDowell and Marissa Twitty each with two and Kristen Hall with one.
