A fourth-quarter rally Thursday helped Polk County Middle earn a share of the Blue Ridge Conference East Division regular-season title.
The Wolverines rallied for a 31-28 victory over Apple Valley in Hendersonville, ending the regular season with a 10-2 record, 9-1 in East Division play.
It is the seventh girls basketball division title for Polk Middle, the most recent coming two years ago in the 2021-22 season. The Wolverines, who shared the East title with Hendersonville Middle, will open play Wednesday in the BRC postseason tournament, seeding and opponent to be announced.
Polk Middle trailed Apple Valley (7-5, 6-4) 21-19 entering the fourth period. But Reeve Carroll scored nine of her team-high 15 points in the final quarter, helping the Wolverines rally to secure the win.
Sofie Abrahamsen added eight points, with Amiyah Waters scoring three. Kenzie Alm and Jill Brown each had two points while Honesty Jackson finished with one.
